The factory owner proves the actor a fraud, and punishes all those involved. The young actor feels he has let the workers down, and promises to atone. He sets out for Shaolin, determined to be accepted as a kung-fu pupil at the elite temple.

    When a young man picks a fight with Manchu officials, he is forced to seek refuge in the Shaolin Temple, a martial arts training school. His disdain for authority sets him at odds with a legendary monk and he unwittingly plays into the hands of the Manchu governor.
